In base alle indicazioni ministeriali, si consiglia ai futuri studenti di sostenere un test di autovalutazione prima dell’immatricolazione.
Questo test non è obbligatorio né vincolante per l’iscrizione, ma ha lo scopo di aiutare ciascuno a verificare il proprio livello di preparazione iniziale.
Nel caso in cui il test non venga superato, oppure non venga svolto, l’iscrizione al corso di laurea non viene compromessa. Tuttavia, lo studente sarà tenuto a soddisfare specifici Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi (OFA). Saranno i docenti di Analisi Matematica I a valutare, per ciascuno di questi studenti, il possesso di una preparazione adeguata e con il superamento dell’esame di profitto di Analisi Matematica I verranno considerati assolti gli OFA.
Il test di autovalutazione è strutturato a risposta multipla e si svolge online tramite la piattaforma UNISTUDIUM INGRESSO, sarà disponibile in tre diverse finestre temporali:
• dal 1 al 7 settembre 2025
• dal 3 al 9 novembre 2025
• dal 7 al 16 gennaio 2026
Inoltre, si raccomanda vivamente la partecipazione al Precorso, pensato per rafforzare le competenze di base e facilitare l’ingresso nel percorso universitario.

The Master's degree in Mathematics aims to provide the student with in-depth skills in mathematics and its applications.
It is its purpose to make the student acquire abstraction and reasoning skills, proficiency in mathematical modeling and mental flexibility, which is useful when studying complex problems, both from a theoretical and practical point of view.
The student is encouraged to develop scientific curiosity both for strictly mathematical issues and for possible interactions between Mathematics and other sciences.
Among the educational objectives of the course there is also the development of communication skills, useful both for teaching and, in general, for communication of the scientific thought.
The student can choose, according to his own interests, between 4 curricula focusing on innovative themes of great interest and topicality: General-dicactic, Mathematics for Economy and Finance, Mathematics or Cryptography, Mathematics for Industrial and Biomedical Applications.
The curricula differ in the importance given to the various aspects of the subject: the theorical ones, the computational, economical-statistical, historical and didactical ones.
All curricula consist of some compulsory courses, specific to the chosen course, and some even more specific courses, aimed at studying advanced topics in the field of interest in greater detail. Based on the previously acquired knowledge, the student will then be able to expand his/her competences in related fields or complete his/her math training on basic topics not yet acquired.
The degree holder will be able to work in various contexts, related to the different curricula: (a) in companies and businesses; (b) in laboratories and research centers; (c) in the fields of teaching and science communication; (d) in the services sector; (e) in the public administration. The most important fields of employment are those related to computer science, finance, engineering, health care, communication, science, teaching and, in general, all contexts where being flexible and open-minded, having good computer skills and being familiar with management, analysis and processing of numerical data are required skills. So, the degree holders have (or can easily obtain) the competences to carry out various professions. For example, they can become teachers by once achieved the teaching qualification and passed the public examination, in accordance with current legislation.
The Master's degree in Mathematics holder usually finds a job within 3-5 years (employment rate: 80% 3 years after graduation, 94% 5 years after graduation. Rate of satisfaction: 100% according to AlmaLaurea - April 2017).
Since 2016 the Università degli Studi di Perugia (Italia) and the A. Mickiewicz University of Poznań (Polonia) initialled an Agreement that allows students to obtain a double degree (Italian and Polish), spendable in both countries and elsewhere. In order to increase internationalization, our Department encourages students to partecipate in exchange programmes with universities having a training credit system comparable to the ECTS system. Study opportunities abroad are made available to students through special selection invitations. Selected students will be granted financial support in the form of mobility grants,usually in the context of the Erasmus programme. The duration of the exchanges is usually between 3 and 12 months. The study plan and the exams to be taken abroad must be reasonable relation to the duration of the exchange. The President of the degree verifies the consistency of the whole study plan the student chooses abroad with the learning objectives of the course rather than looking for a perfect correspondence of the content between the individual training activities.
The president is also in charge of approving the transcript of records.

The qualification obtained makes the student able to enroll in Mathematics master level courses in Italy and abroad (level I and II) and postgraduate schools.
