Commentary

Objects are involved. No time line is involved, but links are labeled to show the order of events. Arrows show the flow of messages from object to object. While sequence diagrams can take up a lot of space collaboration diagrams are more compact. Sequence diagrams are semantically equivalent to corresponding collaboration diagrams. Return lines are not shown. Active objects using concurrent threads can be used.
